Trailer Pumps

When the first Crisafulli portable PTO-powered “trailer pump” rolled out the factory doors in the mid-60’s, it was because farmers needed a convenient, efficient method of  taking water from the Yellowstone River.  Now, shrewd Ag producers in every state use Crisafulli’s portable PTO powered trailer pumps for high-volume water transfer, to take water off crops saturated by rain and to transfer water to row and flood-irrigated crops. Strawberry farmers in California, and corn producers in the Midwest use their Crisafulli pumps to take water off their fields during heavy rains, while cotton farmers row irrigate with their trailer pumps.  Growers who raise cranberries, alfalfa, and rice flood irrigate with high-volume, conveniently portable Crisafulli trailer pumps.  Water being the precious (and sometimes costly) resource that it is for growers in California, capture of tailwater in gravity-fed sumps has become common; from the sumps, Crisafulli pumps transfer tailwater for beneficial re-use

Axial Flow Pumps

For applications demanding water transfer at the highest volumes (up to 50,000 GPM), Ag experts choose Crisafulli Axial Flow pumps; high volume at the highest efficiencies.

Vertical Pumps, Trailer Pumps &
Slurry Pumps

To move dairy waste from pits under their barns, producers often select the Crisafulli vertical pump.  Fitted with an optional slurry gate, the vertical pump becomes a mixer. Close the slurry gate & the waste is then pumped away. When dairy or hog waste is transferred to pits and ponds, farmers rely on Crisafulli’s slurry trailer pumps to mix & pump the waste for field land application or injection. Crisafulli pumps are non-clogging, a feature which dairy & hog producers have found most beneficial.

FLUMP & Rotomite

Cleaning lagoons of  wastewater sludge and biosolids, and removing residuals from the settling ponds at water treatment facilities are jobs that Crisafulli’s dredges, the remote-controlled FLUMP & the self-propelled Rotomite, capably handle each day. Public Works directors turn  to Crisafulli for advice on dredging technology so often that Consulting engineers throughout the U.S. feel confident specifying Crisafulli’s SRS (Sludge Removal Systems) product line. Innovation has been a Crisafulli hallmark, and fully automated are the most recent fruits.  Treatment plant operators & superintendents hail automated dredging as a time and labor saver.

For dredging irregularly shaped ponds, canals or waterways, cities from coast to coast have chosen the self-propelled Rotomite, another proven performer from Crisafulli’s SRS line.   Rotomite’s interchangeable cutterheads (special models for sludge, weeds, heavy slurries) and powerful pump ensure the highest flows, while Rotomite’s self-propulsion enables convenient & timesaving operation without the need to set up a traverse system.

Crisafulli’s Sludge Removal Systems continue to set the standards by which productivity is measured in municipal dredging.

Vertical Pumps, Axial Flow Pumps, portable Trailer-mounted Pumps

Many communities have enhanced their dike and stormwater systems by installing permanent pumping and control structures.  For such flood control & stormwater management stations, Crisafulli vertical pumps have proven ideal.  Click here to read about communities where neighborhoods have been saved by careful planning & Crisafulli pump installations.  Where some pumps fail passing the grit & trash in stormwater, a Crisafulli pump excels.  While most Crisafulli vertical pumps have been Electric-driven or PTO driven, if you’re a municipal manager who faces power outages during storm events (just when you need your pumps up & running), then choose a dual drive (Electric/PTO) Crisafulli, the pump you can depend on. If the water’s rising and you’re not there, do you want your Crisafulli pump to auto start?  Simply tell us what degree of control you desire, and we will provide it – your Crisafulli pump is completely customizable to meet your needs precisely.  Other pumps installed now? In most cases, we can retrofit to your existing stations.

Crisafulli’s portable Trailer-mounted Pumps have been used by hundreds of communities for emergency pumping during rainy seasons and flood events.  Perfectly portable, your Trailer Pump can be deployed and operating within minutes.  Most trailer pumps are PTO powered, but more & more municipalities choose a diesel engine on the pump frame, for a self-contained unit that can be used at even the most remote pump site — or an electric motor on the pump frame, for nearly silent running in residential areas.

For sewage lift stations, public works departments depend on the reliable, predictable non-clogging performance of Crisafulli vertical pumps.

Trailer Pumps, Engine-on-frame trailer pumps, PTO power units, Axial Flow Pumps

Emergency management directors in charge of response & recovery efforts tell us that they face  flood control & emergency pumping situations that demand portable pumps  — because when minutes count, pumps must be deployed quickly; Enter the perfectly portable Crisafulli Trailer Pump. For over 30 years, the US Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA have consistently selected Crisafulli as their pump of choice during flood control & recovery. Best of all, they say, is that it can be up & running within minutes of reaching an unimproved site. Emergency managers who don’t expect to have PTO power available to run their trailer pumps usually tell us they prefer a diesel engine on the pump frame  ¾  instantly their portable pump system is self-contained. Or, they select a skid or trailer mounted Diesel PTO power unit, sized and manufactured to power their pump.

Are you creating waterfowl nesting or feeding habitat?   Filling wildlife marshes and waterfowl nesting areas at our nation’s magnificent wildlife refuges as well as duck clubs is an ideal application for Crisafulli pumps.  Some club and refuge managers prefer permanent installations and choose the vertical pump configuration, best suited for stationary use, while other fish & wildlife directors must deal with flood-prone areas and opt for a portable trailer-mounted Crisafulli, so it can be moved without difficulty.   See Case History for real life application.

Water recirculation & replacement, as well as fish bypass operations at our nation’s hatcheries and fisheries is accomplished using Crisafulli pumps.  Most installations are permanent, rather than portable, and Crisafulli’s vertical pumps suit these jobsites perfectly.

Whether controlling floods, managing emergency pumping, creating waterfowl nesting or feeding habitats, or transferring water for recirculation — when the application requires the very highest water flows (up to 45,000 gallons per minute), you can count on a Crisafulli Axial Flow pump to provide the volume what you need.

When US Army engineers needed to solve a unique pumping problem, an application that demanded a custom solution, Crisafulli got the call.  Draining Eagle River Flats at the Cold Regions Research Laboratory in Alaska required custom-designed Crisafulli pumps and generators, all built on floating platforms for deployment by helicopter.  (Unexploded ordnance at this firing range precluded deployment of the pumps by land.)  Call us --- we will work with you to find a solution to your unique pumping problem.
